The RIAA has certified Ciara’s sophomore album, Ciara: The Evolution (La Face/Zomba Label Group), platinum in only five weeks. Ciara: The Evolution debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 with first week sales of 338,447, and is the follow-up to 2004’s Goodies, which sold 3 million on the strength of its three megahit singles.
She rejected comparisons to Janet Jackson ,this week.In a new interview,she said “I grew up loving and watching Janet, but because of all the comparisons to her, I don’t want to emulate anything she’s done. If anything, I’d love to have the same amount of success. But I don’t want to be like her - I wanna be my own.”

sorry but she should NEVER be compared to ms. jackson, not even on a good day! she tries no doubt but she has little singing talent but can dance ( all love to her choreographer). so she should be happy now because in a year or two, the whole world will have forgotten about her.

I don’t think Ciara is saying that in a bad way. I think she just means that she wants to be seen a Ciara and not as Janet # 2.
As a Janet fan I do see the similarities in the 2. Both regardless Ciara is very talented and enjoy to watch her on stage.
And people need to always stop talking about if somebody can sing or not. Being in the entertainment business is about more than being able to sing its anout the ability to entertain. Ciara and Janet both are great dancers and can hold a note. Jus a Mariah and Whitney are great singers but can’t dance to save they’re lives.
Ciara is #1 and so is Ms. Jackson!!
