Alicia Keys Debuts New Song ‘New Day’ (Listen)

Alicia Keys recently revealed that she feels like a caged animal when she is not releasing music.

Miss Keys has finally been set free by unveiling a new song called “New Day” that was produced by her husband Swizz Beatz that might be the first single off her fifth studio album due out later this year.

She took to Twitter to tease her fans about the song, saying:

“I got something fresh for you, something fresh for the summer. I’m feeling good, and I’m thinking, ‘Let me be the one to kinda just play you a little bit.’

While the piano is very present on the album, the song – it is different from what Keys normally does.

The “Doesn’t Mean Anything” singer who is used to delivering very mid-tempo end even mellow songs is aiming for the clubs with a drum-heavy single which features a catchy hook that makes you want to celebrate.

Along with the track, the New Yorker posted a video message explaining that since becoming a mother and a wife she has been living new experiences that have molded her upcoming record. Keys shared:

“It’s like I’m a different person, a new person.Everything is new, from being married and having a baby, and what that’s done for me in just giving me a sense of real stability, real connection, grounding, reason, and purpose. So much of the music that you’re going to hear is talking about what that feels like, what we’re all going through, all of us … That empowerment, that freedom is definitely something that’s reflected in this album.”
