Aretha Franklin And Willie Wilkerson Engaged, To Be Married In June
The queen of soul is hoping that the third time is a charm.
Earlier today Aretha Franklin announced that she is engaged to her longtime boyfriend and friend Willie Wilkerson and will walk down the aisle in the summer of 2012.
The legendary singer who was previously married to Ted White from 1961 to 1969 and to actor Glynn Turman from 1978 to 1984 talked to AP about the upcoming nuptial and jokingly revealed that at the age of 69 she is not pregnant.
Franklin explained:
“We’re looking at June or July for our date and no, I’m not pregnant, LOL!”
The Grammy-winning performer added that the ceremony will take place in Miami on a luxurious yacht.
As to what she will wear on the big day, the “Respect” singer is looking at gowns by Donna Karan, Valentino and Vera Wang.
