With her fourth studio album called “4″ Beyoncé makes a grand entrance on the Billboard 200 albums chart by claiming the top spot on the charts.

The yellow-haired beauty sold about 310,000 copies of her pop/urban oriented effort according to the numbers released by Nielsen SoundScan.

The “Run the World (Girls)” singer who is leading the charts in several countries including France and England worked really hard to promote “4″ that was released on June 28th, by performing on GMA, Oprah, Nice, “X-Factor”, the UK and during the 4th of July festivities where she blew NBC’s ratings through the roof.

While claiming the top spot must be very faltering for the “Ego” singer, these numbers are far from being as impressive as her previous releases.

In 2008 her “I Am … Sasha Fierce” CD pulled 482,000 units the first week, in 2006 her sophomore album “B’Day” claimed 541,000 units and her 2003 debut “Dangerously In Love” sold 317,000 units.

While the numbers might be a bit low compared to Lady GaGa’s “Born This Way”, Taylor Swift’s “Speak Now” or Eminem’s “Recovery” Beyoncé Knowles has another reason to celebrate, the Austin Powers in Goldmember actress is only the third singer alive to have her first four studio albums claim the top spot on the Billboard 200 upon their first week of release.

The other two to have accomplished such wonder are Pop star Britney Spears and controversial rapper DMX.
