Beyonce Lends Voice To UN’s World Humanitarian Day

Beyonce is lending her face, voice and heart to World Humanitarian Day which will take place on August 19th.

The diva has announced that she is set to film a video for the epic ballad “I Was Here” at the United Nations General Assembly Hall in New York City in front of a live audience that same day.

“I Was Here” was written by the talented songwriter Diane Warren and was featured of her “4″ album.

Mrs. Carter has just unveiled a clip on the campaign website’s where she encourages people to help one another. Beyonce said:

“We all see the headlines and we think what can I really do to help? World Humanitarian Day is an opportunity for all of us to work together to make a difference. This is our time to leave our mark on the world and show that we were here and we care.”

We will be seeing a lot more of the former Destiny’s Child singer in the upcoming months – just like Katy Perry Beyonce is scheduled to premiere a documentary based on her life.

The mini-movie will focus on her life with husband Jay-Z, her impressive career and the birth of her baby girl Blue Ivy Carter.
