Ciara Basic Instinct Album Release Date : August 24 2010 – Ciara’s next album, entitled “Basic Instinct,” will be released on August 24th. She has been surrounded by drama as of late, but that hasn’t stopped Ciara from ensuring that her fourth studio project will be released this summer. The announcement came on her Twitter account, where Ciara said:
“RT RT!! Basic Instinct album release date!!!!! August 24.”

The album will be produced by Tricky Stewart and The-Dream. The-Dream recently deleted his Twitter account following a number of controversial statements regarding the release of Ciara’s upcoming album. The-Dream dissed her by saying that the album would be Ciara’s last chance to succeed.
The video for the first single, “Ride,” has caused a fair amount of controversy lately, after BET decided to remove the clip from their lineup for its explicit content. Ciara has said that she was surprised to hear that the video had been removed, and added that there were plenty of other videos that are routinely played that are much worse than hers.

“My intention is always to do something as good as I can do it, to give my best effort and I always hope that it comes out the way that I envision it. You never necessarily think, ‘Oh, this is gonna get banned,’ Ciara said.

It will be interesting to see how well the album performs. It was announced yesterday that Eminem’s most recent album, “Recovery” was able to sell 750,000 copies in its opening week, making the album the largest release of the year. That will be the number for all artists to strive for throughout the rest of 2010.
