Ciara Ride Music Video Banned On BET – Ciara who is in ungodly great shape recently released a music video for her song called “Ride” featuring Ludacris where she could be seen perched up against an automobile dressed only in a skimpy swimsuit and later on humping the floor on her stomach as she belted out the sexual notes.
It might not surprise you, but BET which recently decided not to play Teairra Mari ft. Gucci Mane & Soulja Boy – Sponsor clip has also banned Ciara’s Ride music video. Cici’s fan site claimed:
Although fans were already skeptical about BET being the only network that had not premiered Ciara’s “Ride” video, it was not until last night that fans were TRULY enlightened. During Ciara’s Ustream chat, Ciara’s grandma, Grandma Gladys, let a “cat out of the bag”. Ironically, though many “non-family friendly” music videos have been shown on the channel in the past, “Ride” has not been accepted onto the network.
Do you agree with the network that Ciara was showing too much goodies or do you think that they should play her clip seeing that they have a habit of airing rappers singing about hoes and pimp while showing scantily clad women.

Missey your so right. BET has given the video so much hype, that I’m pretty sure ever middle, high and college student has seen the video. So, to be honest the song and video will still be a hit even if they don’t play it on their network! As for parents… its not the networks or companies who should censor everything or raise your children to respectful adults, its YOU. When you take on the responsible of children you become there guardian and manager. Children are sponges and soak up everything, its your job to provide them with the correct information… Heck, if you don’t want to see it block it but don’t be surprise if little Sue shows little Julia… talk to your child and know whats going in their lives!!! It’s so important… also the have parental controls that can block channels…. just to throw that out there.
I personally like the song, however that does not mean that the message is appropriate for all ages. I have the video on my ipod, would I like for my 6-year-old niece to see it NO! I think it was not a bad idea, but if you are going to ban one than ban them all. It is only fair.

I agree I have a 7 year old sister and I wouldn’t want her to mimic the moves. I understand your view clearly and I don’t argee with the bathing suit of choice. Monitoring my sister is hard and we have capped what she can watch and can not. I just so glad that’s she one of the kids who acts like a child (i.e. play outside, watch disney, read, and write)and not a woman… we have way to many of them now!! Not Bashing you or anything, but there’s no difference in watching a sexually explicit video for four mintues, or short clips over the course of a video. So in this case, everything is to explicit for day time television. Children are the most briliant minds around, so they catch on to things quicker than adults do. In order for them to not be exposed to “non-classy” videos, then all short clipped scenes in videos with women and men girating all over the place should be cut out also.

Big UPs to BET for banning the video. Kids are their main audience, and they don’t need to show, or play songs like that… “Ride the beat is” aka for “ride the D,” and her sexual movements, throughout the video, proves that. I agree BET shows videos that are worst, or as bad but they need to start somewhere. I agree with you totally, most of the people that are taking up for her are just nasty minded like her, that does not make any sense just because you like it and just because you do it, does not mean you have to sing about it and therefore make a nasty video about it. Before he passed my mom and I always use to say MJ and Ciara should do a video together, and to be honest it was considered. Akon was helping MJ with his album before he passed and he said he was considering Ciara to do a song with MJ that hadn’t talk to her about it, but she was considered. If MJ was still here I don’t think he would have still wanted to do the song with her, due to her video. If people were thinking straight they would realize the decent entertainers are the ones that are the most popular,and whenever a decent singer comes out and then change their image to being vulgar their popularity falls. Such as Janet and Britney Spears, which is the reason I don’t understand why Ciara would change her image knowing how their popularity went down when they did it. She is in the industry she knows what happens to entertainers when they change from being decent to being vulgar. Ciara always say that she looks up to Janet who is her idol, and I have also read an article where a music producer stated that she is marketing Janet. When I think about it she does everything Janet does. Came out a good girl, then took a very vulgar picture for magazine cover, and now the nasty videos and songs. I’ve seen so much worse aired on BET. For a network that used to air UNCUT (you all know what I’m talking about) and then SUNDAY BEST on the same weekend, it’s pretty hypocritical! Yes, the video has sexual connotations, but whatever happened to explicit warnings? Maybe BET should ban all the movies they play that are filled with sex, drug and violence, too and be consistent. Uncut has been off the air for years now. So people need to stop using that as a arguing point. BET are making strides clean up what they are showing but I think it is too late tho. As we all know that life is unfair, seeing this is just another way that people(black People) hold each other back. Mtv has no problem playing it because there is nothing wrong with it, which is clear. for those who feel there is something wrong with it are idiots. I just watched the Ciara video and while I understand the complaint that the video is racy, banning it may be too harsh. If BET is not going to ban the videos by male artists that objectify women and glorify treating women like whores, why ban the video of a woman who is simply putting her sexuality out there. So are sending the message that it’s okay for men to treat women like freaks and “ho’s”, but not okay for a woman to put her freakiness out there. As a woman, I am PISSED at the video ban!!!

i’m soo sick of guys being able to have all these women walking around in nothing, but yet when one starts singing and wearing something skimpy its an issue. not to mention she was wearing leggings and a sports bra, i’ve seen less at the beach.

I applaud BET for finally taking a stand! Ciara went from keeping her “Goodies” in a jar to putting them all out waxed & bare! The Lyrics are so bad that she had to change them from “THEY love the way I RIDE it” to “HE love the way I RIDE it” so that it can get more radio play. If that’s even any better. She was basically telling the world that she’s a h$e & the video did her no justice! Who are THEY!? I do agree that other videos should be banned but BET has to start somewhere! Let’s give them some credit for once. This video had absolutely NO CLA$$! It was hood & very vulgar. Not an image that we should want the world to see concerning women of color. She has been trying WAY to hard with her most recent videos that have been very sexually explicit especially the one with Justin Timberlake! I would like to see her go back to the sexy yet cla$$y tomboy version of Ciara that we all grew to love. I’m not a fan of this stripper. Oh and she had the nerve to go on 106 & park and tell an audience member to have some class! Are you serious! I really wonder what goes one behind the scenes that changes these so called artist to hypocritical beings? Beyonce is a whole other topic. She went from “Nasty Out some clothes on” to Sasha the hooker. On that note, we as women should all applaud BET!

I don’t think that’s fair how they banned her music while Chris Brown’s No Bull is being aired and its almost like a porno flick. I love Chris Brown and supported him, even with his Rihanna thing because we don’t know what happen between those two but he did paid for his mistake but yo, if her video is banned, they need to ban Chris & Trey Songz porno music videos.
