  3. Marquell says:

I really miss D’ Angelo’s music. The first 2ea are going to be tough to pass by especially Voodoo. The only thing I hope he is not pressured to do is Auto-Tune that would be a complete disaster to a voice like his, and sound like his. Thats why I only buy Neo-Soul as far as R&B music, because those artist can actually sing. Its about originality, and when an artist uses Auto-Tunes they are copying the masses. That means they are not capable of creating there own style, because they are robots.

@Marquell : Voodoo is FULL of vocals effects and crazy overdubs but no he will NEVER use that auto-tune. He’s the king of harmonies like 10 to 20 different layers of vocals. Speaking of creativity very very few people have heard the album so far but they say its crazy. Less rhodes oriented and more composed with guitar, bass with a rockier/funkier/psychedelic sound. cant wait !

i love his music and what he has introduced to the world of music. its so rare to find a voice so melodic and unique. i love his takes on old school r&b tunes such as,heaven must be like this, cruisin, and your precious love. i love the clever composition of his music and the bass guitars are always on point. as teen i wish my generation had more talented and original artists like d’angelo. i am very anxious to hear james river!!! p.s. please come to nyc =)
