It appears that Aaliyah’s first posthumous album will be made available sooner than previously thought.

According to several reports, Young Money rapper Drake who is borderline obsessed with the late diva will be heading the much anticipated project.

An unnamed source who allegedly has knowledge of the matter spoke to HipHopDX revealing that the Canadian star has been selected to executive produce the album.

The news has many of Aaliyah’s fans baffled by the fact that someone who never met her nor worked with her will be producing her songs.

Shouldn’t R.Kelly, Timbaland, Missy be the main collaborators on an Aaliyah album?

They were the people who knew her- musically speaking the best.

Timbaland shared that sentiment and was quoted as saying :

“I don’t know what’s going on. The proper way to do that would be for me him and Missy to be all on the record.”

Despite being blasted for his actions, Drake is moving full speed ahead with his Aaliyah related plans.

Drake will debut a new song which features Aaliyah at his OVO Festival later today at Toronto, Canada’s Molson Amphitheatre.
