Etta James Beyonce Diss:Etta Slams Beyonce At Last Obama Inauguration Performance – Etta James recently performed in Seattle where she blasted Beyonce singing her song “At Last” for The Obamas on Inauguration night and slammed the president while at it.
James told the audience:
“You know, your President, the one with the big ears-he ain’t my President–had that woman singing for him at his Inauguration. She’s going to get her ass whooped.”
She added:
“How dare Beyonce sing my song that I been singing forever. Now I’m going to sing it for y’all….”

Etta James is just mad becasue Beyonce sang it wayyy better than her. And for an old lady to be using bad language it just shows that she is a “drugged out” has been. I do not care if you think Barack is not your Presdient, he is still our leader. I would be surprised if Etta has ever voted in her life. She is just jealous that Barack did not ask her to sing. She does not have the grace as Aretha so she should just go back to whatever hole she crawled out of.

I understand where she’s coming from. This was her signature song that made her known to the world. I think the President didn’t care much about the song it was more about having Beyonce perform and that would be the classiest song she had for the event. I think ut of respect for Etta james they could’ve invited her or even asked her permission because The Inauguration of a President is a HUGE deal!

well if it was etta´s song, and beyonce singed her sing without her permission, then beyonce should pay her , no matter if it was beyonce or any other singer, they have to pay the rights, stop hating, that woman works for earning her money to be her work used by others
everyone has the right to their own opinion and the right to speak it as well. “At Last” is her song Beyonce had no right to perform it without her permission which is why i can understand why Etta would be mad Beyonce should have consulted Etta before performing her song and she wouldn’t have been put on blast
“At Last” is NOT Etta James’ song. She wasn’t the first to sing and I doubt Beyonce will be the last. She made the song popular back when she recorded it and Beyonce made it popular today. If she’s calling Beyonce a theif then she’s a hypocrit because neither of them wrote the song or originally recorded it.

For your information At Last is not Etta’s Song. It was written by Mack Gordon & Harry Warren. & was first performed by Glenn Miller. Etta james needs to remember that the song isnt really her song, she didnt write it. All she did was do a cover of it. Just like Beyonce, Christina,& Nat King Cole, who by the way recorded it in 1957, 3 years before etta came out with her version. So maybe you should get your facts right before you open your idiotic mouth next time. Everybody covers other ppls music. Shes just bitter,shes a dried up old has been & mad the song that she took credit for in the 60′s is being recognised again by a voice that isnt hers. It is not her Song!Give some recognition to Mack Gordon & Harry Warren. They wrote it!!
It doesn’t matter that Etta doesn’t own the song. She made it famous. And i don’t think she’s being so unreasonable. Think of how you would feel if somebody in the near future did a cover for your beloved Beyonce’s Single Ladies or Irreplaceable or any of her other singles…yeah.
