I love all leona lewis songs but i love this one best i just sent it to my x who has ben ignoring me for the past year coz i dumped him well i kinda did but i were drunk sooo…. i dunno but he used to hate me loads i sent him that song & he forgave me coz every word in that song i ment that night when i went to his house & sung it for him, he sed i sound amazing. but i don’t ! he made my day this song saved our relationship.

what exactly is the message in this song she’s trying to convey? i don’t quite get it.
i heard this song for the first time last night and i think that i can really relate to it…. my parents have been divorced for quite some time yet its still really painful seeing my dad who hasnt been able to find love again move on with his life and struggles with alcoholism. i think that she has been so unhappy because she wouldnt allow herself to be loved until her dad is loved because she didnt feel it was right to see someone she loved suffer while she was happy. this is actually one of my struggles in my life at the time and this is simply how i viewed the video and lyrics however im sure there are many more ways to view it. i feel as though im at the point in my life where i am ready to just be happy and im just searching and searching for the answers to that happiness but its hard when u see someone else you love struggling. also, i think for anyone who has had their heart broken once its tough for some to open up their heart again and let someone in so its easy to watch life pa** by you because you feel most safe not letting your heart out on the line again. “watch this life pa** me by, so unhappy but safe as could be.” i firmly believe that one will never be completely happy, there will always be something that isn’t “happy” in their lives however i also believe that no one can truly be happy til one has dealt with pain/sadness. you have to go through hell to get to heaven. once one has dealt with that unhappiness for quite some time, you long to feel happiness again so you try to set aside other peoples struggles and pains and be selfless for once but its hard when you are watching your loved ones struggle.

I think what you have just said is amazing! I’m with the man i thought i loved until i heard this song and now im stuck in the middle of being safe or being on my own and a lot more happier! But i just know I will miss him terrible! I’m just stuck!!!
