Lauryn Hill Debuts ‘Black Rage’ Poem/Song
The conscious author in Lauryn Hill came alive last night.
Miss Hill who performed at Nas’ Life Is Good/ Black Rage Tour 2012 in Dallas, Texas debuted a new song/poem entitled “Black Rage”.
The title “Black Rage” is not at all misleading for the lyrics focused on her anger and frustration of being guilty on tax evasion charges.
The former Fugees’ first lady rhymed about race, inequality yet ended on a hopeful note. She had the following to say about the song:
“I use the performance platform as an opportunity to express the energy of that moment, and the intention behind it.I’ve been a long standing rebel against the stale, over commoditization. As artists we have opportunity to help the public evolve, raise consciousness and awareness, teach, heal, enlighten and inspire in ways the democratic process may not be able to touch. So we keep it moving.”
While there is no news on a new album, Hill is expected to drop the song before the end of the year.
