Marsha Ambrosius Hope She Cheats On You (With A B-Ball Player) – New Song – Former Floetry member Marsha Ambrosius who never looked so good has dropped a new song called “Hope She Cheats on You (With a Basketball Player)” on the internet earlier this week.

With a title like “Hope She Cheats on You (With a Basketball Player)”, you can only expect the lyrics to be very harsh towards her ex lover who screwed her over with some bimbo.

According to Marsha, the track is about a woman who refuses to take the high road after a nasty breakup.

She explained, “[The song is] the reality of a bad break up.We wanna be decent human beings and say the right thing, you know, ‘I wish you well.’ But this is ‘Everything that could go wrong for him I want it to because my ego is bruised and I’m acting out.’”

The song, which was produced by Canei Finch, is the first single off her forthcoming J Records debut Late Nights & Early Mornings, due October 26.

The singer and songwriter collaborated with Alicia Keys, Dre & Vidal, and Just Blaze on the project.

What are your thoughts on Hope She Cheats On You (With A B-Ball Player) Marsha Ambrosius?

I don’t love this song, but I do love her voice. A little gimmickie for my taste. It definitely makes me sit up, take notice and want more. Go Marsha girl!

    3. Erika says:

I really LOVE this song. Good Job!

    4. Theron says:

I Love her voice. I like the way she looks but she needs better songs and instead of alienating her potential male fan base (like me) she should probably embrace them while catering to women issues. But it’s only my opinion.

    5. Littles says:

YES!!!! Marsha I’ve been waitin patiently for you to resurface with your own album. I’m loving the song feels good just to here your voice again.

    6. Celia says:

yeah…i was kinda disturbed when i heard the song on the radio from get go. and then once i found out who it was SINGING…i was actually disappointed. i agree with some of the comments above saying it was a bit gimmicky…but i do understand her need as an artist to be organic when expressing her emotions so i give her major props for that. it takes balls to be that unapologetic. she also writes songs too..if i were her i wouldve passed on singing such a childish tirade and gave it to somebody more teeny bopper/mainstream to really help that s$$t blow up in his face. why let him know that it’s even you?

      • Crystal says:

This song is going to take her from “the fat chick from Floetry” to “Marsha”. And if she can lose a fan from one song…obviously that “so called” fan don’t respect or undersatnd her craft!!!

    7. tai says:

I heard an acoustic version of this song on Centric and I like it more than this.

    13. Crystal says:

This is song is GREAT…I never felt like the song but this is TIGHT…The problem with Neo artists is that they won’t branch out..I love NeoSoul but she did this song better than a “Gimmicky Artist” would…well put together and way to go on expanding…With a song like this you’ll be on all the count downs and be a world wide name…not just a Neo Soul artist…YEAH!!!

    14. Get.em.Boo says:

Loving it!!! I so miss the sound these chicks brought to the game.
But I get the need to do ur own thing.

    15. amazingchelle says:

Come on, now people. Maybe none of you that think this is an “immature” song have ever had a bad break up. Like the article said, this is for those that are tired of always taking “high road”. . . This song is just representing the thoughts that many have after a break up when the other person moves on. For those of you who have never had your ego bruised and have never had negative thoughts after a break up, then this song isn’t for you. But I do believe on the rest of her album she’ll have the “mature”songs of “even though you are leaving/cheating/lying/breaking my heart, I still wish the best for you”. . . Music is to show all sides of human emotions and situations. Stop trying to put an artist in a box just b/c of ONE song!

    20. Everett Parker says:

Love it, her voice is beautiful and so very soulful. When she comprised those hits for “Floerty” she was eccentric and raw. Funky, fusing poerty and song an explosive combination of beauty… She’ll be around for a long time. Indeed Philly, keep up that groovy soulness beautiful. I’ll be at your next concert giving you props.

Celia, the simp-le fact that you said “why let “him” know that it was you…makes it clear you’re not/weren’t a fan from the start. I think the single is awesome and I agree, it’s been too long since she grace us with her angelic vibe, voice, presence. I love you Marsha!! Welcome home! Call the song teeny-bod, gimmicky, etc. I think it’s gimmicy to clock in to work each day. You can’t hate on this single. ~Much love, much respect. Makes my heart sing.
