Kellz killed it, as usual. I taped both performances Monday and Tuesday night. I just wish I could’ve taped his performance with The Roots too. I’m glad he did the show to promote his album, but Jive really needs to step it up when promoting their R&B artists. They didn’t promote Untitled at all and they’re barely promoting Love Letter. This album comes out next week and R. Kelly has only been on 2 shows (Soul Train Awards and Jimmy Fallen twice). If it was Britney Spears or Justin Timberlake, they’d be all over the place.

  2. TheOne1 says:

@Nikki his performance with the Roots didn’t air on t.v. It’s online only. Check Jimmy’s website. You can also find this performance in better quality there too I believe.

  3. Trek says:

Kellz is doing his thing. He’s letting his music speak of itself so hopefully the promotion will take care of itself. At the least Jive should have commercials running or ads on several website word of mouth can be powerful.

    • Nikki says:

I agree, there should at least be commercials on tv. I remember when Chocolate Factory was about to drop I saw the commercial for it all the time on BET. Hell, he got more promotion back then and that was RIGHT AFTER the sex tape came out, now that he’s been acquitted and all that stuff is done with, suddenly they’re scared to promote him? That doesn’t make sense to me. I don’t buy that it’s b/c of his case, that ended a year ago. Jive slacks when it comes to promoting certain artists. That’s all it is to it.

    Powerful album

  5. Christina says:

i LOVE this song, i LOVE R, and i LOVE the Love Letter CD. I can’t WAIT to get my copy!

  6. Christina says:

In terms of Jive promoting better for him, i am sure that they have TRIED to get him on other shows, but a lot of people may still not have forgiven him, so he has to take what he can get on whatever channel and whatever time slot. he is TRULY showing his talent on this album! Just AMAZING and cannot WAIT for the tour dates.

  7. Alexander says:

Jive is promoting his album, the prediction record sells are to be about 350,000 the first week! It was R Kelly who was not ready to cover TV shows! Now he is ready

  8. R. says:

I think it has more to do with Robert not wanting to do interviews because of the allegations surrounding his personal life and the questions it might generate. I’m sure he can’t go on Ellen and do an interview. It would be awkward as hell. I know he has been on a few radio stations doing interviews lately but from one I’ve heard the DJ kept bringing up the supposed “beef” with Trey Songz which I thought was EXTREMELY disrespectful when R. was on there to promote an album. I’m so glad Jimmy Fallon was kind enough to have R. on his shows 2 nights in a row! That’s great! I hope R. can go on George Lopez or some other late night shows that appreciates real talent. He’s one of the best amazing performers and is the best singer ever.

    • KW says:

I agree 100% on what you said. R is the man and his track record tells all when it comes down to voice, talent, shows, and all the people he write songs for. I’ve been a fan from day 1 and I never let any drama separate me from talent. Most of the record labels don’t put a lot of effort in promoting to much anymore. You see a little something here or there but not like before. That beef wit Trey aint nothing cause it don’t amount up to nothing. Trey can sing but he can’t touch R in all the things I said earlier. Trey have a buzz now it won’t last long watch what I tell you. KW…

  9. MA NI**A says:

i dont mind wat people or radio & TV station may say about his past it doesnt affect me, but if R. kelly stops siging, i will definetely lose a part of ma life, as i listen to his music all the time…

  10. danielle says:

I’ve been listening to his CD on FB for 2 weeks now. It if phenominal. I hope he can go on Monique and George Lopez to promote this great CD. If people would stop judging and appreciate his talent while he’s still here. Can’t wait till next tuesday!!!!

  11. Gina says:

Loved both performances. That’s real singing. Thanks Jimmy Fallon for having him on.

  12. TheOne1 says:

    @ R

I agree it is EXTREMELY disrespectful to keep bringing up Trey Songz when mentioning R. Kelly. I’m sure he’s quite insulted. I heard that interview and you could kinda tell he didn’t really want to talk about that but he knew it was coming. He sounded like he was being very professional about it.

    • REALTALK says:

those folks who keep bringing up trey are only trying to start unnecessary drama.

keep interviews about the mans music only.

trey and them know damn well trey is no where near kellz musically.

trey sound like a damn goat trying to sing live.

  13. Nikki says:

I’ve noticed this pattern with Jive Records for a while. Jive never promotes ANY of their R&B artists, look at Joe, Syleena Johnson, Nivea, etc. Yet Britney, Justin Timberflake, and Nysnc would be all over the place. Jive always over promotes their pop stars and under promotes their R&B artists. It is what it is.
