Trey Songz ‘Chapter V’ First Week Sales Projections Are Out

R&B music is not doing really well and the numbers are there to prove it.
Last two months saw heavy hitters like R. Kelly, Usher and Chris Brown new albums all fail to sell 140k in the first week of release.
Even anointed newcomer Frank Ocean’s “Channel Orange” did not live up to the hype when it comes to delivering big numbers.
Trey Songz released his fifth studio album “Chapter V” this week, and some people thought he would do much better than his peers.
The first estimates are in and Songz is in the same boat as the others.
According to Hitsdailydouble.com, that tracks early returns “Chapter V,” will deliver between 125-130k in first week sales.
That is a 50 percent decline for Mr. Songz, who in 2010 sold 240K units of “Passion, Pain & Pleasure” in the first seven days.
