My other girl is back Ms. Whitney Houston. I was so thrilled to see her back and she never lost a beat. Her voice is still strong. Whitney we all go through trails and tribulations in life and you been through yours. But your fans was with you all the time praying for your return. Now that you are back you didn’t disappoint us not at all. I have your new CD as well and I must commend you on a job well done. Loving it.

Hold your head up high and look forward to the future. The past is behind you and can’t do anything about that. But the future is yours for the taking. May God Bless You!

I stand in amazement at what God can do- to see and hear Whitney look and sound so good was remarkable. I loved hearing her testimony throught that song. I didn’t know my own strength and I look to you made me buy her album.

It was a joy to watch her do her thing and to be received by her peers with so much love. her belts were strong and powerful and showed that she still has an amazing instrument- not as clear as before but more emotive and soulful and I’ll take that.

  4. Much Respect says:

    Dear Ms. Houston,
You managed to do something very incredible. Last night, you touched the hearts of Americans with your beautiful voice; and you did more than merely sing a pretty song, rather, you sang with a sultry twang and in a manner that only someone who has lived through the lyrics can sing.
Thank you Ms. Houston for not simply singing at America, but singing with, for, and to us. Your voice is insprational!

    Best wished…
    C.M.

Whitney is truly amazing! Her voice tugged at every fiber of being in me. I must admit I was absolutely blown away! I thought she was washed up and had lost her voice. Clearly she has’nt lost anything. I love soul singers and her voice was so expressive and emotional. The way she roared during this testimony transported me back to church and reminded me of my own struggles I have overcame in life. I love her new singing style much better than her old. She was just a perfect note singer, now she is a gut wrenching soul diva. I have to buy her new album if this is how she sings on it! Kudos Whitney!

  7. Lucky says:

Poor Whitney! Someone who has multi millions of dollars and feels they have had a tough life leaves me in wonder. Maybe if she could see what the middle cla** and the less fortunate are going through, their struggles, and their comebacks without the millions of dollars to help them she would wake up. Those people with nothing and are able to pull themselves out, are the ones that need the pats on the back. To see a multi-millionaire up their crying like their life has been so tough makes me ill.

  8. THE VOICE says:

Lucky this is not about her being rich. This is about a woman that has been through something and finding her way again with God. Just because a person is rich does not mean that they are not like anyone else. Before Whitney is a superstar, before she is rich….she is a person, just like you and I. Whitney stay strong in God and dont let the wicked voices out there stop you from keep on keeping on. I love you, I love you, I love you. Thanks for singing to my heart yet again a song that I will always remember.

      Lucky,

You are an idiot, and need to find HIM. With the economy, lost jobs, homelessness, etc., you have to find the STRENGTH to overcome what’s going on in your life, and the life of others. Being rich has NOTHING to do with it. Why?

Because all of us at one time or another has tumbled, and with HIS greatness, DID NOT crumble. I, myself, WAS NOT built to break.

      V

  10. vic says:

Her hand gestures and the way she inclined it with her voice made this whole song spell bounding!

  11. Denise says:

    Lucky,

Life excludes no one. It rains on the poor, the wealthy and the middle cla** alike. I’m just glad to see Whitney on the mend. I rejoice when ANYBODY bounces back from something that could have taken them down for the last time. Life is the master teacher.

    Keep Well Everybody.

  13. SadButTru3 says:

Here’s a cla**ic example of what drugs can do to the body when you’re young and at the pinnacle of your career. And why you can take the boy out of the hood rather than the hood out of the boy.

Whitney Houston’s marriage to Bobby Brown (BB) is best summarized as a train wreck in the Sierra, why on earth did she take so much time away from her family, friends and loyal fans to be with that Jack”@ss”… As a result I’m doubtful she will ever be what she once was. For now she will tour around the world with hopes of fame and fortune all the while putting monies in BB back pocket (It’s My Prerogative).

Yes some fans want to hear her sing her most memorable sons “I will always love you” and “Saving all my Love for you” to name a few yet go home disappointed. It truly saddens me to say this, but her ship has sailed and with it an invaluable lesson to all children “Just Say No To Drugs”.

Don’t get me wrong I’m all in favor of a pop culture life style sober life style and forgiveness for past behaviors but understand this much… Singing and acting is two different things, you can always play the roll of a recovering down and out drug addict but NO ONE wants to see recovering addict trying to sing for $125.00 a pop.

    Sincerely,

    Sad but true…

  14. Jennifer says:

Whitney’s singing career is sadly & clearly well and truly over. Perhaps she could go into the Ministry to help young artists and show them what happens when substance abuse takes over your life.

As a professional vocalist, I can hear perhaps what others can’t – and the performance itself was a good ‘act’ but it only proved that her vocal ability could not carry her through, hence the ‘acting performance’.

Maybe another movie? At least you wouldn’t be singing ‘live’ in a new movie (if there were singing in it) and therefore your vocals cold be easily tweeked to make them sound acceptable.

Whitney pushed her voice too far form the start. that, along with the substance abuse has led her to this sad stage of no return. Vocalists many years her senior, such as Streisand & Shirley Ba**ey etc still sing as perfectly as ever – even better, some would say.

If you can’t hear it that her voice is indeed crumbled, then you have bought into her ‘performance’. Well done for a good performance Whitney, shame about the voice. Get back into training maybe? Where there is desire, their is always a way.

    • THE VOICE says:

You talk about Whitney’s vocals. Where are yours? She sings better than you and yes she has used drugs, smoked cigs, been through a horrible marriage and she still sings better than you.

People have to realize we are never going to act, play, sing, dance etc, etc the same way we did when we were younger. Football players decline, singers, dancers, excutives, our youth all decline. She is giving us Whitney at age 45 not Whitney at age 20 or 30 for that matter.

Whitney can still sing better than 95% of the singers today. Show some respect and appreciation for the love and the moments she has given us and the the love she still give us today.

I love Whitney because she is real. She doesnt lyp-sing, she goes out there and performs and gives you all she has, even when her voice is not at its best.

If you dont like Whitney’s new music dont listen to it. She double platinum already. There will never be in our life time another singer that will touch the world as she has.

Whitney keep up the great work baby girl and stay in the joy of the Lord! Dont listen to the negativity. Satan is trying to get you down with all the HATE!!!

You already ahead of me…GOD is LOVE…..and you got NOTHING BUT LOVE even for the haters. Stay with God. You are in my prayers and I cant wait for your next project.

      Much Love,
      Rob from VA

  15. THE VOICE says:

Whitney you gave me chills again listening to this performance…….God has a plan for you!!!! STAY WITH HIM BABY GIRL…ALL WILL BE ALRIGHT.

  16. Nonya says:

Whitney is back wiches And dont you forget it. She is 45 not 20, not 30, not 35, but 45. Her voice can still make you feel like your in the sky floating on clouds. Since people think she’s washed up lets see you do drugs and smoke cigs and still be able to hit a note like she can. Whitney we love you and stay srtong because apparently they dont know your strength.
